Browns Trips

My fandom for the Cleveland Browns began in 1971 when after writing a fan letter to Quarterback Mike Phipps (#15) I received a autograph picture and team photo.  Over the next 40+ years I have lived and died with the Browns.   Memories of "My First Game," "Red Right 88," "The Drive," "The Fumble,"  "The Move, "The Return," "The First Game with My Family, and "A WIN in Atlanta on My Birthday" are as much a part of my life as any other event next to finding Jesus as Lord and Savior, my marriage to Michele and the birth of my kids.

Through the highs and lows....I have remained a steadfast and loyal Cleveland Brown.  Yes, I do consider myself as much a part of this team as any player.  And with my kids, I just couldn't wait until like me they became fans....then in 2005 MY SON began to bleed Orange and Brown.  And in 2010 MY DAUGHTER asked me to buy her, her husband and my Grandson, Aiden, a Browns Jersey......

During these years, I've collected my share of Browns items.  It all started when I purchased some old Browns football cards at a local flea market.  That initial purchase began a Football Card collection that goes back to 1948 and includes most all the stars of Cleveland Browns football, including Jimmy Brown's rookie card and cards of Otto Graham, Lou Groza and more.  This collection also includes over 202 autographed cards.

Recently I've stumbled across the "Game Used" (GU) side of collecting sports memorabilia.  Prior to my initial purchase, I never realized a average fan could get Browns team wore items.  Over the last 2 years I've focused on GU items and I'm amazed at the items I've added to our collection.  It is no Canton, Ohio but I've got some truly one of a kind items that the Pro Football Hall of Fame would be proud to have.

Some of our most prized items are a game presentation ball given to Bernie Kosar and over 30 game wore jerseys.  Two of these game wore jersey were special Captains jersey worn during the NFL's Breast Cancer Awareness games.  And a jersey of Linebacker #40 Tarek Saleh, which shows up as part of the History of the Cleveland Browns DVD (at 2 hrs and 2 mins.)

Realizing we can't buy everything....I'm trying, we have set up a few simple rules for what items get inducted into our Browns Hall of Fame.
